What is Camp Thrive Las Vegas?

Launching in June 2024, the Children’s Advocacy Center Foundation (CACF) will be hosting its first annual Camp Thrive Las Vegas at the 4-H Camp & Learning Center located in Alamo, Nevada.  The CACF will bring together 18 – 24 child survivors of sexual abuse, ages 9-13, in a traditional camp setting.  This 3-day summer camp experience will include group therapy sessions with individual sessions provided as needed, arts and crafts, team-building activities, ropes courses, hiking, and much more.  The goal of the summer camp is to encourage healing and help survivors understand that they are not alone.

At Camp Thrive Las Vegas, a variety of activities to challenge participants will be utilized to achieve the following objectives:

  • Increase and practice healthy boundaries with same age peers and adults

  • Increase ability for participants to self-advocate with peers and adults in various settings (indoor/outdoor activities, group therapy, mealtime, and when sharing living space)

  • Increase and practice age-appropriate social skills and cues with peers and adults in a safe environment

  • Practice healthy coping skills in various settings

  • Learn to challenge themselves and overcome fear
