Pinwheel Planting- April 1, 2022

The CACF and SNCAC, together with Prevent Child Abuse Nevada, planted blue pinwheels in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.  The Pinwheel for Prevention campaign is being promoted throughout the month of April in order to create awareness and to serve as a reminder of childhood and the bright futures all children deserve.

In attendance were Neyda Becker (executive director of the CACF), Cindy Zimpfer (CACF board member), Cheryl Cooley (executive director of the SNCAC), Abbigail Frierson (assistance director, Clark County Department of Family Service), Charletta Zamora-Cruz (victim assistance special, Department of Homeland Security), Debbie Harpster (Prevent Child Abuse Nevada), and SNCAC team members.

The Las Vegas Review Journal published an article and a video story of the effort made by the CACF and SNCAC members to plant pinwheels.

“The main focus is to have pinwheels on display to spread awareness throughout the community,” Zamora-Cruz said, “to help ensure that children have an opportunity to live in a free and stable environment.” Read more by clicking here.
